General Questions:
What is your turnaround time?
- Our normal turnaround time is 5-7 working days after we have received all of your artwork and garment specs, a 50% deposit, and you have approved our computer sample of your print.
- Garment re-labeling and other specialty services may increase this turn-around time.
- At times, your garments may be out of stock from our suppliers. In this case, we will let you know a.s.a.p. and work with you to choose substitute garments or re-schedule printing.
Can you print my shirts faster?
- We have an increase in prices for faster delivery:
- 5-7 days = normal
- 4 days = normal +25%
- 3 days* = normal +50%
- 2 days* = normal +75%
- 1 day* = normal +100%
- same day* = normal +200%
*if possible - garment selection may be limited.
What is your minimum order?
- We have a minimum order for screen-printing of 24 pieces per design. Heat-Transfer techniques have a minimum of 36 pieces. Embroidery has a minimum of 72 pieces.
What should I include on my custom re-labels?
- Information required by the U.S. government includes: fiber content, wash care instructions, and country of origin (size is always a good idea too!). Don’t take our word for it though – look it up yourself at the FTC website.
Do you print on customer-provided shirts?
- Yes, but we have a minimum of 144 pieces. As well, you must provide us with a 3% overage in case of misprints (industry-standard).
What are your hours of operation?
- We are generally in the shop from 10am-6pm M-F plus some weekend hours, but do not count on it! Please call Reuben’s cell phone before you come by at 415-608-6149. For all other inquiries, please send an email.
Who does your website?
- A lovely woman by the name of Stephanie Gausby. Please contact her at

Screen-Printing Questions:
How many colors can you print?
- We can print up to 8 spot colors, or we can use CMYK four-color process to represent full-color (see our beginner’s tutorial).
What is an underbase?
- An underbase is a layer of white which is printed underneath other colors. It is used on dark colored shirts, where the ink colors would not be as vibrant without the layer of white below them.
How long does screen-printing last?
- Our screen-printing is guaranteed to last the length of the garment. Normal wear-and-tear is described in our decoration techniques section.
Are your processes environmentally-friendly?
- We do the best we can, and you can help us! Visit our eco-friendly page for more details.
Can you print all-over?
- No. This process is done with very expensive, high-volume machinery.
Can you print on hats?
- Yes. We have many hats available through the links in our garment gallery.
Will you number and/or letter jerseys?
- Yes, please contact us for a quote on this service.
Can you print on jackets?
- In most cases. Some styles of jackets may require embroidery.
Will you print a sample for me?
- No. 24 pieces is our minimum order. We provide a digital graphic sample for all work we do beforehand, to check colors and placement.
Apparel Questions:
Can you source garments other than those in your garment gallery?
- Did you check all of the links we provided? If you still can’t find what you are looking for, shoot us an e-mail and we can try to help out. Almost anything is attainable.
Can I mix and match garments (t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc…)?
- Yes, as long as your design remains the same (same size too!). Changing the size of your design requires a whole new setup. We can change the color of your design for $10 per color.
Can we see samples of the shirts in person before we choose?
- We do have some samples on hand if you drop by. Please contact us if you would like a sample mailed to you (charges will apply).
Payment and Cost Questions:
What payments do you accept?
Do you offer Net30?
- No, we do not offer terms on custom printing.
Do you offer any discounts?
- We keep our prices as low as possible. Please check our Rainy Day Specials for current discounts. Long-term customers will always reap extra benefits as well.
Are there any discounts on reorders?
- No. Prices are based on quantity of shirts ordered per design at one time.
Do you have a contract price list?
- Yes, available upon request from qualified customers.
How can I lower my costs?
- Print less colors and/or less locations
- Print on white or light garments instead of colored/dark
- Reduce the size of your embroidery
- Reach the next price-break quantity (24, 36, 72, 144, 288, 504, 1008, 3000, 6000, 12000, 24000)
Why do colored/dark garments cost more?
Two Reasons:
- Most garments with a colored dye (such as red, black, blue, yellow, etc.) cost more to buy than garments with a very light dye (white, natural, ash grey, etc.)
- When printing a color that is lighter than the shirt color (such as yellow on blue - or white on red), it must either be printed twice, or printed with a white underbase (please see above).
Art Questions:
How do I get my artwork to you?
- You can upload artwork files from our Quote Form. Please visit our Art Center for answers to most art-related questions. If you still need help, send us an e-mail.
Shipping Questions:
Where will you ship?
- We will ship UPS Ground (unless a rush order is necessary) anywhere in the United States and Canada. If you live in Europe, Mexico, or anywhere else in the world and want some American t-shirt printing that badly, we will try to make it happen for you also!
How much will it cost?
- For example, a case of 72 unisex t-shirts is approximately 36 pounds. You may do your own calculations at UPS.com for approximate rates depending on where you live, based on this information. We will of course quote you a precise amount when it comes time to ship to you.
